The Ministry of Security in the Lithuanian government has accused Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi of withholding information by disclosing the facts of the ban on the choice of word combinations for certain search queries at MiUI Global 12.0.10.
Representatives of Xiaomi have refused to admit their guilt and have published an official response, in which they expressed their respect for users and no restrictions on their devices. In particular, the manufacturer noted that the ability to use restrictions on certain words and phrases is regulated by local law on the use of a mobile phone, and is not available throughout Europe.
According to the manufacturer, restrictions on user actions have never been applied, and are less likely to be used in the future in accordance with clear GDPR rules.
